This is a common question and the answer is NO!

Provided your eyelash extensions are applied by a certified lash technician, individually ONE by ONE attached to a SINGLE natural lash.

Extensions, if applied correctly, will grow out with your natural lash, they should feel light and comfortable.

Party lashes or cluster lashes should NOT be used as semi permanent eyelash extensions, they are too heavy for your natural lash and will cause your natural lash to either snap off or pull it out completely OUCH!

If you are unsure, always talk to your technician first!

There are a few different types of lash extensions available:
Acrylic
Silk (Faux Mink)
Mink.

At Lily Beau Lashes we only use faux mink lash extensions, they are lighter than acrylic, which means less weight on your natural eyelashes. We are against animal cruelty and testing and therefore do not provide real mink eyelash extensions.

Our extensions come in a variety of lengths, thicknesses and curl size, talk to your lash technician to discuss to look youd like to achieve.

You will be lying down on a massage bed with your eyes closed.

An under eye gel pad will be applied to your bottom lashes to ensure they are kept isolated.

Your technician will then delicately clean and prime your natural lashes removing all oil and protein build up to ensure the extension will have a strong grip and not slide off.

She will then begin to apply your extensions ONE by ONE to your natural lash.

The whole process is pain free and very relaxing, so much so that most people fall asleep!

A full set of eyelash extensions usually takes between 1hr 30mins to 2hrs.

Maintenance or refills usually take between 45mins up to 1hr.

Your new eyelash extensions should last between 4-7 weeks, which is the duration of your natural lash cycle and provided you follow the after care advice.

Regular 2-3 weeks maintenance is required to keep your lashes looking full.

It is advised to keep up with regular maintenance appointments to keep your lashes looking full and luscious.

Everyone is slightly different but between 2-3 weeks is the average.

Party lashes or cluster lashes are ONE night only lashes that are applied with a water based adhesive.

They can be worn with your semi permanent individual eyelash extensions and are applied underneath your extensions, giving a fuller look for a special occasions such as weddings or birthday parties. These only last ONE day and can be removed yourself gently with water and a cotton bud.

Party lashes must NEVER be applied to your natural lash with individual medical grade eyelash extension glue! They are far too heavy for your natural lash to hold and will snap off or pull out or natural lash.

Yes, you can wear mascara with your extensions although you shouldn’t need to.

If you do wish to wear mascara you must ensure that it is a water based mascara. DO NOT USE WATERPROOF OR OIL BASED MASCARA.

Specialist mascara for use with lash extensions is available and can be purchased at Lily Beau Lashes.

It is not recommended to use the clamp style eyelash curlers as these damage the adhesive bond and may cause your extensions to snap.

Your extensions will have a natural curl to them but if you require further ‘lift’ then a heated curler can be used from the middle of the lash upwards, do not touch the root or bond with the curler.

Talk to your technician if you’d like your extensions to have more of a curl. Eyelash extensions come in many lengths, thickness’ and curls, your technician will be able to talk you through some different looks.

Yes, although please allow at least 24hrs after application for the adhesive bond to set completely.

*Prolonged or frequent use of a sauna may cause your lashes to fall out prematurely due to the extreme heat.

Wash your face with an oil free FOAMING face washer – let the suds do the hardwork on the eye area – then splash your face with clean water.

Try to avoid letting the shower rain down onto your extensions.

Do not rub your extensions with a towel or cotton, the best way is to dry your extensions is to give them a warm (not HOT) blast upwards with your hairdryer then comb through with the mascara wand provided by your technician.

You can run a cotton bud carefully along your eyelid lash line to ensure they’re clean.

You should avoid touching them as much as possible as the natural oils on your fingers will start to weaken the adhesive bond. If you need to straighten them up, it is best to comb them through with your mascara wand.

Yes, if you have had improper application at another salon or simply just wish to removes your extensions, we can do that for you.

You should NEVER attempt to remove your extensions yourself, you may cause damage to your natural lash.

We use a specially formulated remover to breakdown the glue and remove only the extension.

Anyone with the following conditions is not advised to wear eyelash extensions:

– You have pre-existing eyelid or eye conditions such as blepharitis or ocular rosacea
– You do not not wish to follow after care instructions
– You want a very heavy mascara look but do not have the natural lashes to support it
– You have a condition called Trichotillomania, which is compulsive pulling or twisting of hair or eyelashes
– You spend a lot of time in chlorinated water
– You cannot control rubbing your eyes
